BREA, CA, Oct.15, 2001 - CKC Laboratories, Inc. and Wyle Laboratories, Inc. have formed a partnership to provide Bellcore NEBS testing to network equipment manufacturers in the western United States.

CKC's Brea, Calif. facility will provide EMC compliance testing to Bellcore GR-1089-CORE while Wyle's Norco, Calif. facility will provide mechanical and environmental tests to Bellcore GR-63-GORE.  The results will be delivered in an integrated test report generated by Wyle, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).

Because of the extensive testing requirements, there are few independent laboratories able to provide the full Bellcore suite.  Bellcore requirements are imposed by Regional Bell Operating Companies and Competitive Local Exchange Carrier on products developed for Central Office use.  This partnership will provide all of the tests required to satisfy NEBS requirements.

CKC Laboratories provides global EMC, wireless, product safety testing and certification services at six West Coast locations.  In addition, CKC is a Telecommunications Certification Body for FCC wireless certifications and a Conformity Assessment Body for the EMC and R&TTE Directives in Europe.  CKC also offers EMC design evaluations, technical education and EMITest™ Automation Software.

Wyle, a privately held company, is a leader in providing testing, research and engineering services to commercial, industrial and government customers. The company also provides technical support services, life sciences, special test systems and other technical support services to the aerospace, defense, nuclear, communications and transportation industries.

The new partnership will provide testing to the following Bellcore standards: GR-63-CORE, including Seismic Vibration and Environmental testing; GR-1089-CORE, including EMC and product safety; and GR-487-CORE including testing of above ground electronic equipment cabinets.
